Who are we?

Creation: 2016
Head office: Lille, Northern France

Japet Medical is a French medical robotics startup. Since 2014, we have been developing solutions against MSDs at the crossroads of mechanics, textiles and embedded robotics. A know-how that is unique in the world, called Wearable Medicine.

More than a manufacturer, an exoskeleton integrator

Work with experts who
understand your reality on the field.

Our field experts all come from biomedical, occupational health and ergonomics fields. They know the TMS problems you encounter but also the constraints of professionals, and will be able to tell you if exoskeletons can bring benefits to your employees.

The history of Japet Medical

The journey of an exoskeleton designer like no other who chose to make occupational health a health subject.

2014 - Start of research

The reflection starts from the relief of low back pain. It begins through a partnership with the Lille University Hospital. A strong medical DNA is already present.

2016 - Japet designs an exoskeleton against back pain

Japet was founded in 2016 after a successful fundraising campaign. The team then flies off into the world largest hardware incubator, Shenzen, to accelerate the development of its first product: an exoskeleton capable of relieving back pain.

Within 3 months, a functional prototype is created and ready to be clinically tested.

2019 - Medical CE marking and patents

Japet obtains the CE class IIa mark for its Japet.W+ exoskeleton and makes the choice to be an ISO 13485 company (the certification of manufacturers of medical devices). Our requirement for safety, quality, traceability and health benefits is becoming an integral part of our identity.

6 patents are registered and a co-development phase enables R&D teams to adapt the exoskeleton to the needs of professionals facing MSDs challenges at work.

2024 - Creation of a complete range of exoskeletons against all MSDs

We continue to manufacture and improve Japet.W+, our exoskeleton, in Lille. Our R&D team is constantly listening to the market to develop new textile and robotic solutions.

At the same time, Japet is integrating other exoskeletons on the market into its catalog. We create a complete range of physical assistance devices (DAPs) to fight against all MSDs encountered at work.

Our multidisciplinary team

Robotics engineers, model makers, doctors in biomechanics, ergonomists, ergonomists, UX designers, UX designers, mechatronics technicians, quality managers, integration experts: the Japet team brings together all the expertise necessary to design, test, and manufacture medical exoskeletons that meet your occupational health challenges.

Multidisciplinary and committed, our team brings together technology, use and field reality to imagine devices that really relieve and that are permanently integrated into the daily lives of professionals exposed to MSDs.

Thanks to this complementarity, Japet has become the essential designer of medical exoskeletons.

Japet is the inventor of a unique design approach: Wearable Medicine

To create exoskeletons centered on Humans and that provide real health benefits, we combine 3 areas of expertise in our developments.

Aligning textiles, robotics, and user experience make it possible to create safe, effective exoskeletons that bring satisfaction to our users.

90% of our materials are sourced in Europe, for exceptional quality and traceability.

Japet expertise : from design to production

Our workshop in Lille produces hundreds of Japet.W+ and textile accessories every year. To do this, our team masters a unique skill: integrating electronics into technical textiles. Every day, it improves manufacturing processes to produce faster and better. Our objective: to meet the growing demand in order to democratize access to exoskeletons.

And as Japet.W+ is CE medical certified, we combine industrial performance and regulatory requirements. Each device follows a strict traceability protocol, with the rigor that this imposes at each manufacturing stage.
